Manager/Supervisor

Waltonen Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the design of Defense vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex projects and leading design teams, ensuring successful project execution and delivery.

Job Responsibilities

  • Report to Waltonen Engineering Manager
  • Manage projects related to the design of Defense vehicles
  • Monitor and execute project timelines to meet deliverables
  • Delegate project tasks and ensure team members are prepared for success
  • Track progress and review project tasks to ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain and update the engineering change log and open issues list
  • Be willing to travel to customer locations as needed
  • Monitor, direct, and control government service programs
  • Assist with cost, schedule, and performance management
  • Strategic planning, program activity analysis, and goal establishment
  • Plan and oversee a team, taking corrective actions when necessary
  • Manage risks effectively to avoid issues
  • Create a robust risk management process

Qualifications

  • Strong practical experience in project management, especially with complex government-related projects, including managing one or more projects with direct design reports such as design leads or designers
  • Proficient in using Creo software for design and modeling, with technical proficiency and understanding
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques, with familiarity with contract language and technical statements of work
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with positive collaboration with diverse program stakeholders
  • Innovative problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to recognize and solve design and mechanical problems
  • Strong team player with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service while working cohesively with team members to prioritize customer needs and expectations
  • Must be willing to pivot and adapt strategies based on evolving customer needs and feedback
  • Experience with government IMS and CDRL (preferred)
  • Expertise in Microsoft suite, including Microsoft Projects
  • Willingness to travel locally as needed and work overtime, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads
  • Availability to work between 40 to 60 hours per week based on project demands, including remote work on Saturdays on an as-needed basis to meet customer demands
  • Only United States citizens can be considered
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance
