Utility Worker/Driver

Independence Tooling - Troy, MI - Full Time

Independence Tooling is actively seeking a Utility Worker/Driver to join our team!

Responsibilities

  • Report to Independence Tooling Operations Manager
  • Frequently travel locally using the company van for deliveries and pickups, ensuring efficient handling
  • Perform general building and vehicle maintenance tasks, ensuring facilities are safe and functional
  • Maintain grounds and outdoor areas, including landscaping and minor repairs
  • Engage in general labor and construction tasks as needed
  • Collaborate with various departments within the shop, such as Fixture Build and CNC Machining, to support their operations

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for transportation needs
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and work with mechanical systems
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks
  • Enjoys working with their hands and solving practical problems
  • Must be a team player and willing to assist in other areas as needed
  • Must have strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing workloads
  • Prepared to work overtime when necessary, adjusting hours based on project demands
  • Must possess a valid and current driver's license
  • Only U.S. Citizens may be considered for this role
  • Ability to lift 25+ lbs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior exposure to a manufacturing or build environment
  • Familiarity with operating shop machinery is highly advantageous
  • Interest in learning a trade such as welding, machining, fixture building, or quality assurance
  • Experience driving a hi-lo or operating a crane
