Design Checker - Tooling (NX)

Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Design Checker to join our team! As a Design Checker, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing and scrutinizing design documentation to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.
 

Responsibilities

  • Report to Waltonen Design Lead/Program Manager
  • Examine engineering CAD models, drawings, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and sound design
  • Interact daily with Designers and Detailers regarding CAD models/drawings
  • Identify errors and corrections needed - ensuring that designs conform to customer specifications
  • Regularly use NX CAD software to open, manipulate, and modify specific files
  • Provide feedback and address any issues promptly

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in checking designs within the automotive, defense, or aerospace sectors is highly desirable
  • Ability to communicate constructively and professionally with team members
  • Demonstrated work history checking CAD models in Unigraphics/NX
  • Previous 3D CAD modeling experience 
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated work history in automotive BIW tooling
  • Exposure to Teamcenter, a product lifecycle management (PLM) system, is a plus
